discs (with a 35mm hub flange) as used on the older B3 model. From August '92, Audi then changed the setup to 280mm discs, now looking at ETKA, the only differences I can spot, are the change in caliper carrier, and the splash guard [1]. My reckoning says the splash guard doesn't interfere, and is just a bit bigger to cover the bigger discs and isn't essential, so, all I need I'd need to go from 256mm discs to 280mm discs is the change of caliper carrier... Can anyone else cast there eye over this and confirm? Has anyone done this conversion? If I could have walked in a parts department and got the right discs first time, I might not be asking this question, but I've been supplied with Quattro 256mm brakes (much smaller hub), 256mm solids, and now the 280mm vented. I wouldn't actually mind the bigger discs so if its a straight forward swap I thought might as well go for it (and save problems in the future), if not now I know they are B3 discs [2], I'd go chasing some of those [1] There is also the option of ATE & Girling calipers, but these afaik seem interchangeable. [2] This piece of knowledge still wasn't enough to talk a local specialist supplier into looking at those pages in the book and so was banging on trying to sell me solids hence the '**** it lets just make the 280s fit decision whilst we have some'. -- Jon B Above email address IS valid. <http://www.bramley-computers.co.uk/> Apple Laptop Repairs. |
