Bluetooth

When I insert an Ambicom BT-2000 CF into a pda which does not have
drivers installed for the card, the pda can "talk" to the BT-2000 as
if it is a modem.
What is the "AT" command set for this configuration?
Is it possable to talk with the card without a Bluetooth Stack?
Is this hardware aspect of this card using a UART-type deal or what?
I have tried to find answers to these questions at but
no luck.
