Only in the least. Michael just dismantled Cooney. It was something of a
surprise the ease with which Spinks moved around a plodding Cooney and
drilled him with repeated combinations.

No. (And that's coming from a friend of Cooney's). However, and I ready for
the flames, the Cooney who lost to Larry Holmes would have beaten
Spinks...Easily

Not sure where the easily part comes into play, but Cooney has taken a
revisionist beating in the years since the Holmes fight. Most people don't
know or remember that Cooney was more then compehostinghostinghostingive in that fight.

Yes, it was a competetive fight and that's coming from someone who saw the
fight and didn't think Cooney would do as well as he did against Holmes.

Ooops! I saw the reference to "Holmes" and after sending this response read
that the subject referred to Spinks-Cooney.

So, agreed, it was not close.
