Tonight they had a con man as one of the defendents. Turns out one of the things that he conned ( as a grief counselor I think ) was selling people pills that cured diabetes. They didn't say what the pills were but did say that it was something harmfull to diabetics. Turns out that for most people the suplement is safe. But if have some degree of renal failure the suplement stays in your blood and turns toxic. I don't think they said what it was, if they did I missed it. |

They didn't say what it was, but that is a big problem with "supplements" MANY supplements are only safe if your kidney and liver can clear them out of your blood. US ONLY !!! laws elsewhere may be different. ANY kidney or liver problems and they become very dangerous - as "supplements" they are not requited to test for problems like this, or , even if they know about it, label for them. Look at how long it took to get the killer "Ephedra" off of the market, and now we have "bitter orange" to replace it, and Stevia, and other known killers which US supliscam marketers can legally sell. > > ....., and Stevia, and other known killers .... There you go again. Although Stevia's safety is in doubt, it has not yet earned the title of "known killer" And before you blow a gasket and tell the world I am a stevia pusher, LET IT BE KNOWN that I do NOT recommend stevia and I agree with most of Ted's post. -- Wes Groleau It seems a pity that psychology should have destroyed all our knowledge of human nature. -- G.
