No scratches or dings on them yet (55K miles), but you really have to be careful when crossing curbs and the like - you can't use the sidewall to climb up onto objects like you can with the 16's. I think it corners better than the one I had with normal wheels, but it's definitely a street tire and takes a lot more pounding if you're driving on bad roads. You do pay a lot more attention to potholes after a while. -- Zamboni |

I'm running 16" wheels with 10 ply rated tires 265/75-R16 LT have bent 3
rims on the truck since new in 1995. 1 from sliding into a curb on ice, the other two from rocks and wash-outs. Plan to go to the 285 tires when these wear out for more side wall. Not good in snow or on slippery surfaces. Replacement cost for wheels are
$770.00 each if you get them from DC or $375.00 or so from Dodge's accessory catalog. "nItpIk" <bubba@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:HuFvc.9$hp4.10020@news.uswest.net... > Anyone try a set of 20" wheels on their truck yet? Thoughts? > > |

I have a 2004 Dodge 1500 Quad Cab 4X4 w/ 20" rims and love it. What
particularly do you want to know? "nItpIk" <bubba@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:HuFvc.9$hp4.10020@news.uswest.net... > Anyone try a set of 20" wheels on their truck yet? Thoughts? > > > |

I would think the low profile sidewalls of the 20" tires would make for lousy handling and ride. Especially offroad. Easy to ding up the rims offroad too. Seems to me they're more for the sports car look. Are they expensive to replace as compared to a 16"? |
