sport. The inside of my door says my tire size is P255/65 R15, when I went to purchase new tires, everywhere I've gone has said my tire/rim size doesnt match with the "standard size" in their computer for a '97 Dakota, and they would have to special order them (extra money). So, I guess my question is: Becuz I bought the truck used, is it possible that the owner before me has changed something, or did I just get the worlds smallest Dakota? (this truck sits lower than every other Dakota I've been beside). Also, would P235/75 R15 fit on my truck? They've mentioned something about the wheel well size, and tires might not fit...anyone know? This is all WAY over my head, I'm just a girl who wants some new freakin' tires...not asking alot! Thanx in advance ![]() -Sandy- |

A quick check from Discount Tires website (are they in your state?) show the standard size for the 97 Dakota to be 255/65R15 or 215/75R15. If your tires are one of those two sizes then they are standard. Most tire shops should have them in stock. The 235/75R15 is about 3/4" taller and 1" narrower than the 255/65R15. My intuition tells me they should fit fine but someone else here thats put them on would know better. |
