have got lost in cyberspace somewhere. Just my thoughts Blood great idea, they have 12 laps in an hour to do a fast lap on friday, the same on saturday, the the fastest time gets pole, and so on. That was the mid 90's format, why did they f**k about with it. Problem solved. If Minardi or Jordon moan tell them to improve their cars instead of whinging about qual. -- Help declutter the spare room so I can decorate it at http://tinyurl.com/2rowj |

It was a good system and IMHO it did also, potentially, give the smaller teams that little bit of extra time on track in front of the TV, all on their own. ![]() > Problem solved. I agree with you; though it was maily done at the behest of the commercial TV companies who were getting extremely nervous about the often twenty, occ***ionally thirty, minutes of unused tarmac they were being forced to broadcast. The system chosen still - even three years on - doesn't sit well with the purists. Qualifying should be about the fastest time the cars/drivers can achieve; why hobble them with full tanks? Qualifying should be about the fastest time the cars/drivers can > achieve; why hobble them with full tanks? The problem I have is that it doesn't really hobble them with full tanks, it hobbles the race start with nearly empty tanks and causes farcical events like everyone pitting on lap 8 and a 3-stop sprint race for the entire field. It ****s the race just as much as it ****s qualifying. That won't be the case this year at least with no tyre changes but it's a funny solution, sorta like flying the wrong way around the globe to get somewhere. If there was a hard control tyre and full tanks at the start of the race like there was around 1999 everyone would be doing 1 or 2 stops per race and there wouldn't be this m***ive speed increase every year (due to ****head rubber scientist developments) as there is now. |

I must disagree: Vile hardly *begins* to describe you. How do you 'disagree'? There is a difference between saying you disagree and actually demonstrating your disagreement you know! The context of my post was correct, sure maybe the rubber scients are or aren't ****heads, but I'm still right! ![]() |
