it's tall. I put the plant (with the caterpillars or eggs on it) in a vase and just keep replenishing the plant when they eat it. Also a few sticks in the aquarium are good in case it wants to form it's chrysalis on the stick. If all goes well, you will have a butterfly in about 10-15 days. You can be sure you have a butterfly caterpillar if the caterpillar is on dill, carrots, (wild carrots or regular carrots) parsley, milkweed, spicebush, thistle, nettles. etc.. If you are not sure, search on the net. ![]() Btw....Wild carrots is Queens Anne Lace.
