General - "Butterfly gardening" in Child Care

.... ..imb..

Default Butterfly gardening

I put them in a 10 gallon aquarium. I stand the aquarium on it's side so
it's tall. I put the plant (with the caterpillars or eggs on it) in a vase
and just keep replenishing the plant when they eat it. Also a few sticks in
the aquarium are good in case it wants to form it's chrysalis on the stick.
If all goes well, you will have a butterfly in about 10-15 days.

You can be sure you have a butterfly caterpillar if the caterpillar is on
dill, carrots, (wild carrots or regular carrots) parsley, milkweed,
spicebush, thistle, nettles. etc..
If you are not sure, search on the net.
Btw....Wild carrots is Queens Anne Lace. I never knew Queens Anne Lace was
carrots...
Have a good day,
BTW...Joanie, where in the Pocono's are you from? I just dropped my son off
at a basketball camp in Clarks Summit.
