I am starting a new home daycare in Calgary Alberta, Canada: http://www.creativeplay.ca/ Alberta uses the term "dayhome" for home childcare for 6 children or less, but we don't feel that is very appropriate for a "home daycare". I think that "family daycare" is a much better term, and more clearly expresses the "daycare in home environment" atmosphere that we should be encouraging. How do others feel about this? I feel that is why I am NOT a babystitter. We are professional.
And we need that distinction Eva *Debbie* wrote: > Hi Eva and welcome to the group. Family daycare is a much better term that > dayhome. Those of us in the profession know that, we just have to convince the rest
of "them" that we don't spend our day's playing, having it easy and not doing much. Hello,
I live in UK and we use the term childminder which most of us don't really like, because most people think childminders are not qualified childcarers and are not appreciated; but most of us are qualified. However, family daycare sounds fantastic. fabia "Eva Dever" <eva@creativeplay.ca> wrote in message news:6TNLb.44040$ts4.22777@pd7tw3no... > I feel that is why I am NOT a babystitter.
