only place that I don't get yelled at for going Off Topic ![]() #1 Have any of you ever done the "fill out surveys for cash"? My Mom came across one of these, and was wondering if it was "legit". She's basically homebound, and spends an awful lot of time on the computer. Anyone have any advice? #2 Most of you can ignore this next question. But for those of you who have had kids that have graduated from high school, can you give me any hints about throwing an Open House? And when do you send out the graduation announcements. Thanks! >have had kids that have graduated from high school, can you give me any >hints about throwing an Open House? And when do you send out the graduation >announcements. Well, here are the hints I have about graduation open houses. If you are going to serve punch or soda, get more than you think you will need. You will need it. What kind of foods are you planning on serving? All cold, cold and hot? I've done both. And we sent out the graduation announcements a few weeks before the graduation...not so far ahead that people forget, but far enough that they schedule in the event. Sort of like a wedding. I have a 21 year and and a 20 year old, so it hasn't been that long since we've gone through this. |

graduation invitations, you send them three weeks before graduation. What are the problems you have with the Open House idea? Keep it very simple, set a time to start and end and enjoy filling your house with friends and family. ~laugh a little~ Mitzi |

Hey this is very OT you know!!!!!!!! <joking> ;-) I do online surveys. You don't get a lot of money from them, and some of them take forever to build up enough points to cash in.... but some are great. All of mine are UK-based, unfortunately, but not all are scams so it is worth looking at. Look for companies that actually pay cash, not points, and find out what the average fee is per survey and what the cash-in point is (there's no point joining a company that might give you $5 per survey if you only get one survey a month and you need $200 before you can claim...). It's also worth emailing real market research companies - many of them do online surveys now, or send you products to try. You can also do online "mystery shopping", involving either ordering goods from companies or asking them for info. All costs are reimbursed and you often get to keep the ordered product ;-) Most surveys only take a couple of minutes, and if you spend a lot of time online, they are no bother to do. It's probably better to only work for real Market Research companies (in the UK they have to belong the market research ***ociation, there may be a similar scheme in the USA/Canada so you know they are legitimate) or for recommended companies. I can't answer the first question -if it is legit- but I have seen those...
and then there are ones where they'll pay you for telemarketers to call you for surveys... I don't know the only thing she can do it try it. But make sure she does not have to give Bank account info or a credit card... if they say that is the only way for them to pay then screw it. Most places claim they will send out a check. If they ask such personal info they can steal her identy. 2nd. I'd send out an info about a month ahead... this is going back in time but my mom threw mine the week AFTER graduation on a sunday afternoon... most gals had theirs saturday so sunday was good. Hi Peg.
I have done those surveys out here in the land of Oz for free products etc but only ever got a couple so stopped. I don't know how things work on your end but out here you have to be a bit careful as half the time it is marketing companies that are only interested in getting your personal details for marketing purposes.
