I've no problem with that... I got a beautiful note one year form a parent.... that was the best gift I got that year. The TIN of popcorn was from the CENTER Director!!!! You see they didn't have any money to give us because the center's owner needed to be bailed out of jail from his fraud charges. After paying two million who had money to give the staff a bonus! Thanks Joanie. I went to the site and did some converting. Child care
wages here work out to between American Dollar $8.43 for ***istants to $10.85 for group leaders. Trainees earn $2-3 less than the $8.43. These are minimum wage scales under our award. Some Centres pay their staff above the award but it is rare for this to happen and the majority get paid the award. I had a letter from the Australian Tax Office yesterday to say that because I am a low income earner they are going to match my personal contributions to my super annuation fund (retirement package) up to the amount of AUD 1000 per year. Where in Canada are you? Just curious. There is no standard rate (provincial
rate) for childcare? Here in Manitoba licensed care is $26.40 for under 2, $18.40 for 2-6 years of age, and I'm not sure about school age but I believe it's in the $13-$14 range. These amounts include the extra $2.40 our daycare can charge a day for providing to snacks. If a daycare provides a hot lunch they can add another fee I think an additional $1.00 or so a day. Wages in Manitoba can be found at the following link... http://www.mccahouse.org/phase3.htm there is a phase 4 now, and some centres have jumped on the bandwagon for worthy wages and have applied it. Our centre isn't there yet but hopefully soon. OMG!!!! Sorry for my shock. I thought our fees in Manitoba were high but
apparently not so. Our fees a week equal to $132.00 Canadian. Ok here's my next question....as I'm always curious at the differences between countries and even within my own country...what is the average wage for someone in the field in a centre in the city where your at? Oh my...I suppose that would be a big umm expense. Was the centre not
insured for things like that? I agree...the notes and cards are the best gifts from parents. I just recently took over our toddler group and I get little notes in their lunch kits to me and I keep them all. I love the little notes and cards more than a box of chocolates. Sometimes
you don't realise how much parents appreciate what you are doing until you get a card or note with special words in them. I save all of mine, the chocolates get eaten and forgotten and the bubble baths get used and forgotten but the words written down stay with me forever.
