Really that many. WOW!! I found one on the internet that I used because I
needed it fast. We were celebrating ECE week here in Manitoba. Every year
the past week is The week of the ECE, our center buys us a gift every day
and also every year I make a little something for the staff. I wanted to
include a little card with an ECE poem with the gift.

I would love to see some poems if you could send some to me, that would be
great. Let me know and I will send my email address.

Wow, a Centre that appreciates and recognises their staff for their work?
More should do what yours does. It reminds me how we once all got given a
pen with the company's logo on it for a Christmas pressie. That was the
first and last time that happened. We figured they must have ordered too
many pens and could not get rid of them so we got them as Christmas gifts
)

I meant to send this message to the group but accidentally just sent it to
you Debbie....my apologies for sending an email without permission.

I'm not sure what other centre's do...but this year our Board of Directors
went all out. Monday we received a pot luck lunch curtosy of our Board and a
few little do dads ( shopping list magnet, pen (no logo...lol), one of those
dragon fly sticks you put in a plant. Tuesday we got....these cute little
candle holders, Wednesday we got Travel Mugs with our names engraved in
them, Thursday we received a Bonus Day off of work and Friday we received
fleece hooded jackets with our daycare name printed on them.

We felt very appreciated for the work we do.

Do any centres out there celebrate anything similar?

No worries, your message would have been bounced back as I don't have my
legit email addy on show. Any positions vacant at your place??? We just
*had* to pay $30 each for our fleece hooded jackets with company logo for
winter. I have not heard of any Centres that do what you just described and
I'm sure if I suggested it at work the "elusive management" would cart me
off to the funny farm LOL.

I know other child care workers from all over Australia and no one seems to
do what you just described. Nice to know there are places out there who
show appreciation for their staff.

I just found out that my friends center where she works, one of their gifts
was a raise of almost $1.00.

We by far don't have the perfect centre...but we try to work things out as
best as we can.

Wow a raise of almost $1.00, that's great. There is no such thing as the
perfect Centre but if the staff are happy and willing to work together then
you can still have a GREAT Centre even if there are not many resources or
equipment.

Although I am not their mother,
I care for them each day.
I cuddle, I sing and read to them,
and watch them as they play.
I see each new accomplishment,
and I help them grow and learn, Iunderstand their language,
and I listen with concern.
They come to me for comfort,
