three month old son is always bundled up and warm but it seems that no matter how bundled up he is his hands and fingers are still very cold. I also put the mitts on him to try and keep his fingers warm. Does anyone have any information or suggestions. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! MJ |

Take his temperature by checking the back of his neck or back to see if he is warm or cold. As his circulation and mobility improves, his fingers and toes will warm up :-) Don't bundle him up too much - it's actually better for babies to be slightly cool. Donna |

babies are less crabby in a cooler environment. Unless they prefer being bundled it might be better if the blankets were looser so that the child can move around more to get circulation going. ~laugh a little~ Mitzi |

I must add my two pennith worth ! LOL
Current thinking is that overheating plays a large part in sudden infant death or cot death. Where as catching a chill from being cold (extremes I know) is far less life threatening. Sorry if this seems a little grim or harsh! Enjoy youe babies they grow up really fast! On a recent trip to our hospital during an asthma attack with fever our doc
told us it was normal for his hands and feet to be cold because his body was making sure the major organs received an adequate amount of oxygen and that we just noticed it more during the fever because he was so hot. They also told us to undress him, he was too bundled. Babies should be dressed with one more layer of clothes than what you would wear. this is the guideline they gave us.
