high for younger children and why good programs start when their fours

Hello, welcome to the group. Whereabouts in the world are you from? What is
the average childcare rate there? And which programs start at four?
In the UK, childcare costs vary hugely (say from £10-£30 ($15-$45) per
day) - which such a large fluctuation, there is something for everyone. In
addition, low earners can claim childcare costs on the tax and get part of
the money back - can other countries do this? Nursery education, which is
what I'm guessing you mean by programs starting at 4, also starts at 3 yrs
over here.

Hello and Welcome to the group. Do you have your own FDC or are you in LDC?

In the State I am in in Australia Centres charge between AU35 - AU45 per
day, give or take a few dollars either side. For the age groups between 0 -
3yrs you pay more due to the fact that there are less children in the group
and more care is required. In Accredited Centres (most are) programs start
right from the babies room.

Programs are obtained through observing the children as individuals and a
group. We take all areas of their development into account and program for
their strengths and weaknesses. We also set individual goals for each child
and these form part of the program. Depending on the Centre a certain
amount of developmental checklists and reports are required. At my Centre
we are required to do 3 annual checklists with an end year report. Goals
both short and long term need to be evaluated every 3 months. Everything
needs to be do***ented and the records have to be kept till the child
reaches the age of 21.

Not only do we program for their development we also run inclusive programs
that cover special needs and multi-culturalism. That's how it works out
here - in a nut shell.
