Default Questions to ask a potential babysitter.

I am trying to get together some questions I should ask a potential
baby-sitter. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, Should I ask for a Criminal
Record Check?

For me personally I would ask for a criminal record check, references from
previous employers and baby sitting experiences they have had and first
aid, to name a few.

Are you talking about a teenage babysitter or a Professional Childcare
Provider?

O.K. then you are looking for a Professional Childcare provider.
Here are a few :

1)How long have you been a provider?

2)What are your qualifications?

3)Is your facility or home licensed by the state?

4)Will you provide me with at least 3 references?

5)Why did you become a daycare provider?

6)What is your discipline philosophy?

7)What has been your staff's turnover the past year?

8)Am I able to drop in at anytime?

9)What other adults will be around my child?

So you want a qualified professional adult who is available at all times and
willing to come to your home on short notice? Not to sound snotty but, good
luck with that.

I would prefer someone that can be available at all time of the day. I am a
stay at home mom and sometimes need someone to look after one of my girls
while I take the other to doctor's appointments. So to answer you question,
not a teenager, as they are still in school and won't be available during
the day.

I have not seen but have hear of a sort of "Rent a granny" service... where
seniors will baby sit. I know Disney does this in their hotels and I've
heard it somewhere else before as well.

I think what you need to do it go to a few mommy and me cl***es... find a
friend... then see if she will be able to back you up when you need to take
just one child out and you can do the same for her.

Good Luck...

I guess I forgot to mention that I would prefer that the baby-sitter come to
my house.

I would prefer someone with experience. I never said I wanted a
professional.
