Default Childminding not in your own home (UK)

A friend of mine hates her job and would really enjoy working in
childminding. She is fantastic with children and we are certain she
would love the job. We have a baby on the way (and another planned)
and a 5 year old.

Would she be allowed to work as a registered childminder in our home,
but with additional 3rd party children? She doesn't have suitable
premises herself, but we have a suitable house and would actually
quite appreciate the additional social interaction that having 3rd
party children around would mean. We would obviously bring the safety
up to standard (it isn't far short already) and she would get
insurance through the NCMA.

Is this allowed, or must she work in her own home?

Christian.

Yes. It's called the home childcarer scheme. She registers as a childminder
but works in the child's home. Since she'll have other children present, she
can probably do it s/emp, which is far easier all round.
Info on standards, tax etc.
