off of 23.1. My clubs are a King Cobra Copy "King Snake" and I have been using them since buying them in Canada about 6 years ago. I have joined another Golf Club this year and have been playing regularly and have just really started to hit the ball more consistantly, aint a well struck shot a good feeling". I can hit more consistantly with my woods which have reasonably firm graphite shafts, although I think I have a fast swing? But have hit some sweet Iron shots, my Irons have steel shafts. I have promised myself that if I can get below 20 I'll treat myself to a quality set of clubs but don't want to buy the wrong clubs. As well as being able to use them I feel that you need to like the look of a club to boost confidence at address and as such of all the ones I have viewed so far I tend to like Callaways. I was able to get an X16 Steelhead and an X16 Pro 6 Iron from my local Pro Shop, hit a few balls on the driving range and took them round for 9 holes, using just these irons alternating between them, obviously opting for other clubs when hitting below 140 yards or so. I think I was expecting every shots to be awsome but sadly that didn't happen, reality being that a good golfer can hit any club well and I'm sadly not a good golfer. That said although I prefer the look of the X16 Pro, stainless steel smother finish, most shots seemed to be fat, not sweet wheras I hit more sweet shots with the X16 problem was the club happened to be fitted with a Laidies Ultra Flex Graphite shaft, "Very Wobbly", making the club a little short and due to the high flexibility I may have lost some distance?? It also seem to look alloy as opposed to steel. Of all the Callaways I do actually prefer the look of the Big Bertha Irons but have been told they are for high handicappers and as my game improved wood be wasted and that I should opt for the X16's. Are the Big Berthas purely for high handicappers? Who benifits from Graphite shafts? Are the X16s easier to hit than the Pro series? Hence my better average? The X16s and X16 Pros come with various shaft options, how do I choose, I like the look of graphites but should I opt for a firmish steel shaft? In order to get the right clubs how do I get them fitted properly correct shafts and head angle, I live in Guetersloh Germany.
