I have two SATA hard drives in my machine which are configured in Raid Mode
as Spanning and show up as one drive combining the two drives.

If I add another SATA disk, would that have to go in as part of the spanning
setup and get combined with the other two drives? I want the new drive to
show up as a seperate drive if possible. Is it?

Just don't set it up as raid, by default it gets recognized as a seperate
drive
