HDD

I have just ordered my first 1TB HDD. It was about $100. I can't help
but look back to the first "big" HDD I used 40 years ago. It was 8MB
and cost about $25,000. I can't think of anything that has reduced in
price more a byte of disc storage.

My iomega 1GB drive arrived today. After reading lots of reviews that
said it was noisy and it tended to fall over I was a bit worried but
after fitting it I was pleased to note that it can't fall over unless
it is pushed quite firmly. The first thing I did was run a backup to
the drive. It was almost silent. Either the reviews are wrong or
iomega have made some changes.
