Quite so - except that the British response also tends to be "you have made
some very serious allegations. We will not tell you whether your allegations
are true and it would be impertinent for you to expect us to. We expect you
to hand over all your evidence and the names and addresses of all your
witnesses, so that our spindoctors can manage this story."

Pure coincidence?

Give us a break.

Who described Ronnie Reagan's monetary and fiscal policies as "voodoo
economics?"

I cannot be responsible for your lack of comprehension of reality nor your
mystifying belief in bizarre and pointless schemes such as that laughable
one about covering up abuse by drawing attention to abuse.

But come on, these fakes were so corny it was ridiculous.
They did one thing, spark a controversy over an issue that may or may not
have been true.
You'd believe the photo where they show Elvis shaking hands with Pres. G W
Bush.
But turn around and disbelieve the one of Bush and the alien.

You've got to know that I loved your response.

Yes, quite possibly.

Probably not. But if you think either proposition has anything to do
with the other, feel free to explain.
