I wouldn't conclude that about all of France. Seems the folks of
Normandy made their feelings known recently. Like here in the States,
the problem seems to be in the media and liberal intelligentsia.

I don't think Governments can have such a big influence on economic
crisis. They are damned or lucky. Question of timing.

At first, French are much less flexible than american in matter of jobs
because they CAN be more picky. In second, it's harder to hire or fire
people in France because of the many laws that protect the employees.
This has a price: higher unemployment.
