I can't believe you've been shutting down the PC every time you've left the
room, even on dial-up :-)

That's the part that would give me the hump too...won't be so bad if you
get a new modem out of them though...

Yup, but he might do that for a day or two but not every day for 30
days.

Even if he did he would be hard pushed to find stuff, and that was where I
fell down...think I found a few 40MB things but that was about it :-|

That`s a bugger! I suppose by having to wait so long that BT did me a
favour really. No charge for going from Dial up to BB.

No I didn't switch it off every time I left the room, only if I was
away for a long period like gardening, and shopping etc.

The Speedtouch modem they supplied is very neat. Much smaller than my
zoom V.92 dial up modem

It does say that you'd get a free modem and free connection... but I'd
phone them as I paid over £100 to get connected in the first place and
that included buying my own modem. :-(

I'm having a quiet spell as I have only used 30MB in both directions so
far since putting that DU meter on....
