Hello,

my linux box on a Performa 6400 works very well.
I just have one problem for now : when starting KDE, I get a message saying
this :

"Error while initialising the sound driver.
Device dev/dsp can't be opened (no such device)
The sound driver will continue, using the null output device."

And actually, I get no sound out of the computer...
I checked, the sound is perfect when booting on Mac OS 8.6

I wandered on the web to try to find a solution... But no way.

I use Yellow Dog Linux 3.0.1

sorry that I can't help you! But I can't start the x-server on my
Performa 6400. Please, could you send me your XF86Config-4 as an example?

Ok, no problem. I had too problems with X, because the YLD prestes didn't
fit the screen. But no I have a good config. Unfortunately, I cannot go
farther than 800*600, while I can with Mac OS.
