pin in the shape of a green ribbon and have no idea what a green ribbon signifies. -- Linda |

>pin in the shape of a green ribbon and have no idea what a green ribbon >signifies. I know that a green ribbon (emerald green) is used for hemochromatosis/iron overload awareness by the American Hemochromatosis Society. There is another significance of the green ribbon but I can't quite recall what it is right now. It's too early in the morning to think. <VBG> Carol What can one expect of a day that begins with getting out of bed. |

>>pin in the shape of a green ribbon and have no idea what a green ribbon >>signifies. A Google search turned up several other symbols. **free speech **energy conservation & awareness **open records (much like the FOIA I'm guessing) **there is also one having to do with a lawsuit against Hasbro but this is probably the one that it is for: **organ transplant and donation awareness. ** Geez, I should have known that one!!! I have a cousin who had two heart transplants and is awaiting a liver transplant. There are so many groups using the green ribbon as their symbol. I think the Google search turned up 10+ pages of information. Carol What can one expect of a day that begins with getting out of bed. |

>>pin in the shape of a green ribbon and have no idea what a green ribbon >>signifies. I did a google search on green ribbon symbol and found that it actually represents quite a good bit of things - maybe the shade of green is specific?? One green ribbon is for those awaiting a second chance through organ and tissue transplant. Some wear it to recognize those who died waiting for a transplant. This ribbon is shaped like the breast cancer ribbon. There are many different shapes of ribbon pins but for some reason, I just automatically thought this was the shape you were talking about. |
