For a while, parts houses like www.cnn.cn had cheap replacement parts but I haven't checked recently. I recently took out my V551 for use as a p***-around phone on an upcoming family trip, only to find that most of the batteries bave died in storage. |

If it's under warranty and the damage is covered by the warranty, get it fixed. I've had my RAZR V3m since last December. It works. Battery life while on standby is two or three days (at least) but I put mine on charge when I go to bed at night and take it off charge in the morning. I don't talk on it very much so I can't say how much talk time I might get from it; it's an "in case of emergency" phone. |

If you just want a [very] solid general purpose flip phone then the Razr V3i is a sound choice and less than half the price of the latest model. > > Thanks, > Sarge in Texas > |

OK I had the V557 for many years and was always reliable til now.
I may want to get a RAZR but I will have to buy from ebay most likely whicj is where i got the 557. I don't care about collecting or listening to music. I do like camera and video capability. I have read that some of the RAZRs are hard to hear. What RAZR model do y'all think I should for? Oh what about Krazr or whatever? I want a flip phone so the screen is protected. Y'all are the experts and users here so asking you for advice. Thanks, Sarge |

You think I can take this fool thing apart and fix it then? I need a cell phone tool kit maybe? |

Checking them out. Wondering if maybe i should upgrade. If you are comfortable with the V557 then I would stick with it. I have had the V3 for a couple of years. Would I stick with it? Probably not as it tends to echo at times when placing a call and the screen is very hard to read in sunlight. Ray |
