I agree. It was the main reason I went with the cable package I had
chosen. Now, it sux just like the rest of the 77 channels in the package. I just canceled it 2 weeks ago. Of course they tried to get me to keep it. Not Interested...... At least the Spike channel has a few good shows. |

From someone who used to be an official at the local roundy round track, I
can tell you I am no fan of NASCAR. The local NASCAR track was having problems with tech. The tech people were all racers and friends of someone and favoritism was rampant. I knew the promoter, he was telling me about his troubles with tech people. I wasn't applying for the job, but I told him he needed someone who detested that form of racing, but knew what to look for inside an engine. He smiled and said "someone exactly like you, huh?" I was temporarily retired from Drag Racing, they were offering what I considered a good amount of money, so, like an idiot, I took the job. Over the course of the next three years, I kicked out a number of people for infractions ranging from being under weight (One guy was 190 lbs light after a 1% scale calibration allowance!) to fully ported and polished heads and stroker motors. I almost came to blows too many times to count and had my life threatened a couple of times. I stuck it out for about three years. My partner in the drag car wanted to go racing again, so I quit. Ran into the promoter a couple of years ago. He offered to make me the local Tech director of NASCAR. I told him I would do it, but he had to do two things: First: Buy me a 10MM Smith and Wesson. Second: Figure out how to arrange Diplomatic Immunity for me. I would have to be declared a foreign diplomat so I couldn't be prosecuted for shooting some a**hole circle jerker. He said "That probably means you aren't interested?" We had a good laugh. <NoOption5L@aol.com> wrote in message news:1125529369.414150.207490@f14g2000cwb.googlegr oups.com... > Why does Speed Channel's programing schedule suck so bad?
