So much for the inevitable port... I just finished MGS4 last night. Fantastic game! Well worth the straight 10s. It was a far better game than GTA4, IMHO. -- Bill Cable - Steelers Fan & Star Wars Collector <----- funny! |

the two - and it's that sort of non-confirmation that says, "Yes, it's coming to 360 and PC." And please don't even try to tell me MGS4 is not possible on a PC. |

Shane Bettenhausen: Devil May Cry 4 will NEVER EVER EVER be on the 360. Heck, Blig Merk was blathering how UT3 would never be on the 360 because somehow it couldn't handle the Unreal engine. |

You're the first fairly reasonable person I've heard state that MGS4 deserves straight 10s. Most people conclude that it was victim of the same overhype as Halo 3 and GTA IV (although not to the same degree). |

Please explain how you come to this conclusion. He very clearly states that the game is probably not possible on the Xbox 360 because the code was very much optimized for the Playstation 3's architecture. His tone and his choice of words make it quite obvious that he is not involved in any attempt to produce an Xbox 360 version (which would be nowhere near a straight port) or even interested in trying that. His statements about PCs are just to illustrate that he's sick and tired of people talking about platforms and would rather they just enjoy the game for what it is. > And please don't even try to tell me MGS4 is not possible on a PC. It's not about whether it's possible on the PC. It's about whether it's even worth trying to create a PC version which would require the same drastic redesign as an Xbox 360 version would. |

Wait........Jonah is now trying to parse words to try to justify his conclusion that MGS4 will come out for the 360? The same Jonah who claimed that the PS3 could NEVER, EVER handle Gears of War? And whose GoW claim was refuted by UT3 for the PS3 having the same type of graphics as Gears? And believe me, I can understand why Kojima is tired of people talking about platforms. Half (at least!) the posts here are about how my dad's console can kick your dad's console's hostinghostinghosting, thanks to geniuses such as Bligmerk and Jonah. > > > And please don't even try to tell me MGS4 is not possible on a PC. > > It's not about whether it's possible on the PC. Straight 10s? Nah. Act 3's lost possibilities negated that. How many times could the game have transitioned from cutscene to gameplay during Act 3.........but didn't? Now, if more of the game had been playable.....that would be another story. Act 4 was great, and while I wish Act 1 was longer, it was great, as was Act 2. I only started Act 5, and haven't gotten around to playing the game since, for some unknown reason. Like Halo 3, it's a good game that's a love letter to the fans....but is often too much a tease, and not a long distance performer. |

For example, logically an average game should get a 5, yet we all know that the average rating is actually 7. So rather than having 4 ways of telling us a game isn't worth buying, we now have 6. What is it about a game that gets a 2 that makes it worse than a 4? Why even make the distinction? -- NiGHTS/Nightcrawler [mWo] I feel asleep!
