My HP720C started to look like the yellow ink in the tri colour cartridge
had run out so I fitted a new cartridge and lo and behold it was the same -
no yellow in the print. I printed a word file with a red, yellow and blue
box and got pale grey for the yellow, dark pink for the red and sort of
purple for the blue. The 'clean cartridge' utility reulted in no yellow
stripe either.

I re-installed the printer drivers and still the same. What can go wrong
with the printer to stop printing yellow. I hope its not terminal as I
can't afford a new printer just now.

Firmly dab the cartridge on a paper towel or tisue. If you have cyan,
magenta but no yellow the Head is blockedor there is no ink, if you do
get yellow there is somthing wrong with the printer.

I exchanged the cartridge for another new one and all is well. I had
already dabbd the cartridge, but no yellow ink !
