Euro and is very sturdy and heavy built, you can see a picture here at: This is a new model released by Harvard in 2003. I just brought their new Harvard Arena Air Hockey table 7' and am very happy with its sturdiness and play action which is why I'm also interested in this Harvard Foosball table. I realize from reading in this forum, it may not be like a Tornado or Dynamo, but I've also read some good things about Harvard tables, and as far as I can tell, this is a much improved, new version compared to their old/original versions. Can anyone comment on this new NXG Table? I'm interested in getting this but thought I would ask the "experts" out here what they think. Please email me at (remove nospammy) and let me know or post here. Thanks! George |

If you just want a table for a little 'fun in the basement', as long as it's a solid table and the rods are strong it should be fine. But if you're looking to learn how to play foos compehostinghostinghostingively you'll need (here's where the arguments start) a Tornado table, at least the twister model with the counter balanced men which will run you something like $1000.0 or so. Shelti's are good as well and cheaper, but not used in compehostinghostinghostingion (Yet). Some people will tell you to buy a Garlando, it depends on where you live. They're popular in Europe and Eastern Canada (not sure about the states) but for my 2 cents they're just a more expensive 'kids table'. Hope that helps. The design of the players feet is quite unlike you find on any other table, and the surface is really slippery, so it is impossible to do many 'standard' shots. It was obviously designed by someone with no idea how the game is played. Basically, the old adage about peanuts and monkeys holds as true for foosball tables as in any walk of life. You gets what you pays for. Boris |

Nice job by Harvard to confuse the consumer. I'll be looking furhter into this product. Alan Cribbs |

Alan, et al... This table is so new I don't think any of us have played on it? I think what we need to do is reverse this process and come up with a questionaire when novices are asking for advice on what table to buy? Instead of answering there questions with "stock" answers will simply post ten question ourselves they will answer and from that we can better answer or they can make a decision on weather to buy or not to buy. For example... (1) Do you plan on playing in compehostinghostinghostingive foosball touranments? (2) Is cost an consideration? (3) Is this for work or home? (4) etc... You get the gist. Then depending on how they answer we won't seem like were steering them wrong or just plain callous when we call other tables toys and worse. Just a thought. PHIL KENNEDY |

Here is the stock questionnaire I use:

I recently recieved this table as a gift. Its constructed pretty well
for a cheap table. You can brush phostinghostinghosting and shoot a roll over. But the playing field is far from true and it has no leg levelers. So the ball always wants to roll one way or another. And if it rolls to the wall, it's staying there because it lacks any kind of side strips. Id say it's a good buy for $200 and you'll like it if you don't expect too much or plan to play in any organized events. I had been out of foosball for a few years and then I recieved this table. Within a week I decided to sell it and buy a 30th anniversay Tornado coin op. I found it hard to play on after having played on the Tornado table. Good luck. |

Good points Bruce,
It's difficult for me to recommend this table over that one, etc. simply because all foos tables have a lot of fun to offer. At the same time tho, I wish I could explain the habits you learn on inferrior tables will come back to haunt you if you ever decide to compete at this game out side your home or office. PHIL |
