set ahead by mistake? You can inform the OP that thier system date is incorrect without being rude about it! -- Mike Brearley "Frank Jelenko" <> wrote in message news:zEb4b.121907$ It's rude to set your clock ahead. Change it to the correct time. "amsjsj" <> wrote in message news:rAi1b.8913$ I have windows xp, creativelabs live x-gamer, ecs motherboard(sis chipset) and the ati radeon 9200 se. not supported by the monitor or the drivers (could be either video card or monitor drivers). - Check to see that the drivers you are using for your video card are the latest and proper for your hardware. - Next go to Advanced on video properties and change the monitor Refresh Rate (NOT Resolution) down to 60Hz. If this greatly improves the image, your issue is the Refresh Rate and you need to make sure your settings are within the range appropriate for your monitor (check manual, mfr's website or their tech support folks for info). If this doesn't help (assuming you have a 17" or larger monitor . . . they should all support 1280x1024 Resolution without problems), your monitor may be signaling "end of life" and need replacing. If you have another monitor available, try hooking that up to your computer and see what happens (realize this requires changing monitor settings and perhaps monitor drivers). -- Regards, Len Segal, MCP Microsoft - MVP -------------- My reply address is intentionally wrong to reduce SPAM Email. You didn't say what it was set to. 1280*1024 is *not* the refresh rate, it's the resolution. Refresh rate is typically measured in Hertz (Htz) which signifies refreshes per second. Mine is an older monitor, Sony 15sf1. I'm using 768*1024 resolution and 72 Htz. Hope this helps.. Dave PS - set your clock you're way in the future... |
