it, and did a NEW INSTALL on a blank, formatted 80G- hdd. Everything went PERFECT. I booted and there was my WIN XP in all its Glory!! Colors galore. Until... I found that I had no MONITOR! XP CANNOT FIND MY MONITOR!!! Yet everything works fine in XP!! All the programs, utilities, everything! It is in trying to change the resolution in DISPLAY/SETTINGS where the trouble begins. IT WILL NOT CHANGE TO 800 x 600. Or to anything above 16 bit color. The ONLY program in my entire hard drive is a dumb solitaire game that requires 800 x 600. I downloaded Monitor Drivers from Viewsonic, for WIN XP, unzipped them and ran them. ZIP, NADA, NOTHING. I'd even settle for the Default Plug and Play Monitor that usually shows in Device Manager, but alas. Help please? |

properties/under the General tab you can troubleshoot, or Drivers tab you can uninstal the monitor. Then disconnect your monitor/reboot/plug in your monitor and let XP's "plug&play" feature reinstall it. |
