programs that are to execute at bootup. I'm familiar with where in Windows 95 or Windows 98 that is done, but Windows XP has changed around alot of things and I cannot find it. I can do it in the registry, but if there is another way, I'd really prefer not risking messing my system up doing it that way. Thanks. - Daniel Doty, dandoty@att.net |

On each program you don't want to start automatically, check its Options to see if it has the choice not to start. Many can easily and best be stopped that way. If that doesn't work, run MSCONFIG from the Start | Run line, and on the Startup tab, uncheck the programs you don't want to start automatically. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |

* C**** Start, Run, type MSCONFIG and c**** OK. * Select Startup tab. * Clear check box for the program which needs to be stopped from triggering at startup.
