I just moved to LA....Where do people windsurf in the Los Angeles area?


Help...

Also, need bit of a longer board any shops in the LA area?

For slalom and bump and jump there is Cabrillo (near San Pedro) and Seal
Beach, both of which have been poor lately and not likely to be regular
until May thru August. Clearing winds are suppose to bring good sailing,
but I have yet to experience them.

Iwindsurf recommends Leo Carrillo for waves but I have never sailed there.

When you feel like driving 3 or 4 hours, Lake Lopez and Lake Isabella have
been good slalom venues.

As far as retailers for boards, Captain Kirk's and Xstremeline in San Pedro,
Long Beach Windsurfing in Belmont Shore and I have good experiences buying
boards from SurfNSports in Santa Barbara and Isthmus. They have been
knowledgeable about the products and seemed interested in me getting the
right board for my stated purpose and skill level. Just be careful to check
the board thoroughly before signing off on the shipper receipt. All damage
is easily taken care of if deliverer acknowledges it on your receipt.

Hi Luc: The best bet is to search the google groups version of
rec.windsurfing for this info. Enter SoCal, LA Los Angeles, Leo
Carrilo, Cabillo, Seal, Santa Barbara, Zuma, County Line, C-Street,
Trancas, and Jalama and you should eventually get hundereds of posts.

Luc-
I have 2 decend longboards I am selling (both mistral one designs) as
well as (2) 7.4 rigs, an 8.0 rig and 9.0 rig. One of these rigs with
the long board would definatly get you time on the water in LA.
